There are five or six classes you can play as by unlocking them. Wayward Souls is an action RPG hack-and-slash game. There are also a number of different characters you can get on your team. The two Shadowrun games, Returns and Dragonfall are turn based combat and have a bunch of pre-built classes or you can make your own. KOTOR is more on the action side and there are nine different characters you can have on your team. There are about 3 days left on the Humble Mobile Bundle (edit: link), which has a bunch of RPGs. It's a game about making your own choices, if you spend the entire time trying to follow someone else's choices you'll lose the best part of the game. It's not necessary, don't get wrapped up in playing it "perfectly". You have to cheese too much in the early game to have an organic experience, you'll be too annoyed about that to pay attention to the story.
